Now I want to give a short description about house boats of the state. Traditionally houseboats in Kerala were called Kettuvallams. Literally Kettuvallam means “Boats with Knots”. Coir ropes tied in knots are used to tie entire structure of Kettuvallam together.
There is an interesting fact that not a single nail is used during the entire process of assembling Kettuvallams or house boats. In ancient times Kettuvallams were excellent means of transportation. They were used as cargo carriers. They were used for the transportation of rice, spices, etc.
Today Kettuvallams are known as houseboats and are known for excellent accommodation with facilities like luxurious hotels. Today houseboats are major attractions of backwater tourism in the state.

If you are interested in the environment then maybe a good idea would be to take a great vacation in the wild or visit the natural wonders of the world like the Grand Canyon. You are not alone in this, because more and more people like the idea of spending time in an environment free from cars, traffic, and tall buildings. Ectourism is dedicated to help keep the environment clean but there are some reasons why many think it is wrong.
1. The Reason Ecotourism is Bad
The main reason eacotourism is bad in the rural locations that any type of animals live is due to the feeling of surprise for the animals. Any type of animals that have lived there their forever are not tame. This is going to become a problem to humans certainly if those humans are bringing food. Having humans live in this area is going to cause stress for the wild animals.
2. Reasons Ecotourism is Wrong
Anyone that has even been to a recognized part has no doubt see a few pieces of trash in different areas of the location. It makes no difference how smart the park rangers are, the forest is a very large place and can sometimes be too big to find every piece of trash. Trash in the forest is going to make the environment look degraded but it is also very harmful to any living thing that takes up residence in the environment. You should know that any type of plastic is very hard to destroy and it is not going to break down.This all does have to do with how smart the tourists are when it comes to making the choice to now litter.
